Families at Primrose School of Dunwoody and Primrose School of Five Forks Donate 1,041 Books to Reach Out and Read

Primrose School of Dunwoody, along with Primrose School of Five Forks in Lawrenceville, demonstrated their commitment to making a difference.  On October 18^th the schools made giving back a top priority in the local communities by supporting a worthwhile cause.  Primrose School of Dunwoody’s and Primrose School of Five Forks’ book fairs and family donations generated 851 new books and 190 gently used books from their 2012 Og’s Bountiful Books drives.  In total, 1,041 books were delivered to guest, Rhonda Hudson, who gladly accepted the donation on behalf of Reach Out and Read (www.reachoutandread.org), a nonprofit committed to promoting early literacy through pediatric primary care.

The book donation drive is a part of Og’s Bountiful Books, a Primrose reading program designed to encourage parents to read to their children at home and send in favorite books to school to share with their classmates and those in need. “Og” is the official Primrose school bookworm – as well as the school’s character development mascot. The Og’s Bountiful Books program is a key part of the Primrose Schools’ new Balanced Learning® curriculum, which balances academics, play and character development.

The event consisted of Primrose School of Dunwoody’s Private Kindergarten student, Taro Ikasaya, reading his favorite book as well as Ms. Hudson sharing her love of literacy with the class. A picture perfect donation of books followed.

Giving back to the community was a major focus of the event and a key component of Primrose Schools’ exclusive Balanced Learning^® curriculum, which uniquely balances
character development with academics and play.
