Killian Hill’s First School Basketball Tournament

Killian Hill’s First School Basketball Tournament

Beginning on Thursday and ending on Saturday afternoon, Killian Hill Christian School hosted several Christian schools and homeschool groups from all around Georgia in their first basketball tournament.

The first round of the tournament on Thursday determined each team’s fate. When a team lost a game, they were put into a consolation bracket with a chance to win a consolation tournament prize. If a team won, they were subsequently put into a championship bracket and able to compete for the championship trophy.

“Crown Athletics’ team played well together and with a lot of heart”, said one spectator of the tournament.

Great thanks is due to Doug Hilliard, the athletic director at Killian Hill, and Rick Madden, head coach of the men’s varsity basketball team at Killian Hill, for collaboratively putting together the tournament.

In reference to the work done to prepare for the tournament, Coach Madden said, “All the faculty and players had to pinch-in to make this tournament a success.”

When asked about the significance of the tournament, Coach Madden said, “There’s an enthusiasm for basketball at Killian Hill that’s growing, and I thought this tournament would cause even greater momentum for the basketball program at Killian Hill.”
