Cheryl Bauer (left), was awarded the 2012 President's Service Award by Gwinnett DFCS Volunteer Resource Coordinator, Kim Crawford for her more than 200 volunteer hours last year. She received a certificate and letter signed by the President at the annual Gwinnett Council for Seniors Award Ceremony on May 16th, 2013.
Bauer is currently serving as the GFWC Lilburn Woman's Club's Home Life Co-Chairman, where she was instrumental in planning and carrying out LWC's 2nd annual PromStarganza in March which provides all things related to Prom for children in foster care, shelters, protective services and any other teens identified in the community as needy.
Cheryl and LWC club members gathered donations of dresses, shoes, accessories, shirts and suits for guys, and even arranged for make-overs for the girls so that they could have the full Prom experience without the typical expenses that go along with the event.

She and her Co-Chairman, Shannan Terhune, along with other LWC club members also recently coordinated and hosted the 2nd annual DFCS Foster Parents Appreciation Dinner feeding over 60 local family members who enjoyed an Italian themed dinner donated by Bambinelli's Restaurant in Lilburn. Volunteers helped set up, serve, clean-up and enjoyed making and giving each family a goodie bag as a thank you for all they do.
Congratulations Cheryl for your dedication to making our community a better place!
