Arson To Blame in Lilburn Apartment Fires
Three separate fires were set at Brentwood Downs Apartments in Lilburn on December 6, fire officials say.
Gwinnett County fire authorities are looking for the person or persons who set three small fires at a Lilburn apartment complex last week.
Firefighters were called to the Brentwood Downs Apartments, on the 500 block of Pleasant Hill Road, at about 8 p.m. on Sunday, December 6. A 911 caller had reported seeing flames coming from a door in the back of the building, which also houses the complex’s leasing office.
“Upon further examination of the scene, firefighters determined that two additional fires had also been intentionally set in close proximity,” said Gwinnett Fire Captain Tommy Rutledge in a news release Monday.

The second fire caused minor damage to another exterior door of the building and the third, which was set in a bed of pine needles and shrubs near the complex’s pool, caused only scorching to surrounding vegetation, fire officials said.
Fire officials have come forward now to ask for the public’s help.
