Atlanta Botanical Gardens

It is right in front of us, but our days are so busy that we are unable to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the gardens. From their web page they explain, "The mission of the Atlanta Botanical Garden as a non-profit is to develop and maintain plant collections for display, education, research, conservation and enjoyment." Located in the City of Atlanta, it is much more than a place to "maintain plant collections". It is a restful place to escape the noise and rush of city life. Children can run barefoot in the lush grasses, laugh and enjoy the many features designed to spark their imagination. A place to rest and have a quiet lunch. Enjoy the many bands and the evening mixing with people of a like mind.Β The garden is not a static display but rather a platform upon which a newΒ fantasyΒ is painted every few months. Mother Earth, rabbits and Unicorns fashioned from plant materials. Dancers from the Atlanta ballet perform, for all, on the great lawn. An then, there are the many acres of flowers and plants just for the education an enjoyment.Β
A wonder, a gift, and sanctuary for all of us. Here are a few of my photos for your enjoyment. There are three galleries. Please, enjoy each one. See you there!Β http://lnphotos.smugmug.com/BotanicalGardens

Note the Garden of Lights will be available from November 16th until January 4th from 5:00 to 10:00 PM.Β
