Band Camp: Parkview 'Working for Weekend'
Viewfinder: Parkview's marching band working on the show this week.
The 110-member strong Parkview High School marching band has spent all week "Working for the Weekend."
At its camp this week at the school, the band has been practicing its 2011-12 program called "Working for the Weekend" — it's a "working" title, by the way — which will reflect the lives of everyday workers, according to director Richard Magner.
The program, which will be played during Parkview football games and in competitions, incorporates music from Gershwin, Dolly Parton, Brahms and even Loverboy, the '80s band that gave us the tune, "Working for the Weekend."

"It's very eclectic," Magner said of the program.
Magner said the program should be mostly installed by the start of the football season (Aug. 26) and be competition-ready by the end of September.
