DragonCon Parade 2011
Here are some of my pictures from Saturday morning at the DragonCon Parade.
If you’re a fan of fantasy, science fiction, super heroes, cartoons, or costume of any kind, then the best event in Atlanta is the DragonCon Parade on the Saturday morning of Memorial Day weekend. It starts at Woodruff Park and goes up Peachtree past the Westin Hotel. Participants go all out with their costumes, props and even vehicles. You can expect to see large numbers of fantasy, science fiction, cartoon and super hero costumes. You’ll find characters from the 1960's Batman and the Batmobile, 1970's Saturday morning shows such as Land of the Lost, to recent movies, like Harry Potter and Captain America. Video game characters are also popular with parade participants. Of course, Star Wars characters always have a large presence. It’s a fun and free event for all ages to see the characters parading up the street.
