How many of us shop locally for our holiday gifts? Instead of buying from strangers, or manufacturers, why not buy from our local businesses, or artist? In our own neighborhood we have many artist, crafters and service providers for gift cards. So how does this support our community? By keeping it local, not only do we help those "small businesses" by purchasing from them, but we can also bring awareness to the recipient to shop there as well. Often times they will offer "free" gift wrap, and of course no shipping cost! During this season, many local businesses host open houses or evenings that you can shop, have a drink and receive an added value with purchase. So look around the community you live in and see who's out there waiting on the chance to help you find that perfect gift and feel good about it at the same time.
