What Is a Photo 365 Project?
On my birthday last August I decided to get more interested in photography. A photo 365 project is my way to meet that goal.
Hello, my name is Greg Williams. On my birthday last August I decided to get more interested in photography. A friend was taking at least one picture per day for a year and posting it on Flickr and Facebook. Many people around the world do a similar project. They call it a 365 Project. I decided it was a good way to get interested and educated about photography. I will talk about my photographic journey, how I’ve grown as a photographer, and so on, in later posts.
The rules of a 365 project are simple - take at least one picture each day for a year and share it. When online access isn’t available, sharing a picture later is also acceptable. There’s no rule for what the pictures can be of. Some people do a self-portrait each day. Others may have a theme that they follow. I do not have a theme, so I take pictures of whatever strikes my interest.
I am now 256 days along in my project. Sometimes I anticipate or plan a picture for days, and other times a picture comes from a spur of the moment happening. Some days I have many pictures to choose from, and it is difficult to choose the one I like best. There are also days where I have a difficult time feeling inspired and have to manufacture something. So far I have not missed a day of taking and posting a picture.
I’m including the first picture of my project, a kitten playing with marbles. The other three pictures are my top three “most interesting” pictures from my project according to the stats on Flickr. If you want to see my entire project so far, it is available on Flickr at this link.

I look forward to discussing more about photography and other topics in this blog. If there’s anything specific you want to see discussed, please let me know!
