City Council Recognizes Outstanding Lilburn Volunteers
Mayor Diana Preston and city council members issue Certificates of Appreciation to community volunteers.
At Monday night’s city council meeting, Mayor Diana Preston and city council members took the time to issue Certificates of Appreciation to several outstanding community volunteers who have donated their time, energy and professional skills to benefit the city of Lilburn over the past few months.
Mandy McManus and Andrea Brannen, current members of the Lilburn Woman’s Club and former members of the Lilburn Park Committee, were singled out by city council for their ability to take the vision of a community Farmer’s Market and bring it to fruition.
This year will mark the second year that McManus and Brannen have spent hundreds of hours tirelessly managing a weekly summer event with very little funding. Mayor Preston commended them for creating a fun place for citizens of all ages to be on Friday nights during the summer months.

Also receiving special acknowledgement from Mayor Preston was Larry Edwards, a relatively new Lilburn resident.
Edwards donated his professional skills to produce a comprehensive video capturing the city of Lilburn’s personality and destination spots. The video was originally produced to be used as the pregame video for Lilburn Night with the Gwinnett Braves earlier this year, but has been so well received that the city will be using it for promotional purposes as well.
