Crist Qualifies to Run for Lilburn Mayor

The qualifying period for November elections is this week.

City Council Member Johnny Crist said he qualified Tuesday to run for the office of mayor of Lilburn.

The qualifying period for November's elections began yesterday, Aug. 29 and will run through Friday, Sept. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Mayor Diana Preston yesterday qualified to seek reelection, according to City Clerk Kathy Maner.

Two city council seats, now held by Crist and Scott Batterton, will be on the Nov. 8 ballot. As of Monday, Batterton and Porter Deal had qualified to run for Post 2, the seat now held by Batterton. Thomas Wight qualified to run for the seat now held by Crist.
