Community Corner

Earth hour

Below is a letter I email to mayor Cristi asking lilburn as a city to join. I was told that " lilburn cannot join every cause because our stream of communication gets too polluted." Maybe we can just do it as citizens.

Thank you for your efforts to improve our community. As a resident, I
am writing to express my deep concern about the threat that the impacts
of climate change pose to our community.

That is why I urge you to enroll our community in World Wildlife Fund's
Earth Hour City Challenge (http://worldwildlife.org/citychallenge),
which offers a platform to recognize and reward cities for the work
they do. The City Challenge builds on the annual Earth Hour event where
millions around the globe turn out their lights for one hour in a call
for action to protect the planet.

All cities that share their sustainability efforts through the Earth
Hour City Challenge will be publicly recognized and have a chance to
compete for one of three $30,000 grants and be crowned an Earth Hour
Capital!
