Faith-Based Organizations in Gwinnett Gear Up For Disaster

A free Disaster Preparedness Summit for the leaders of faith-based and civic organizations and diverse communities will be hosted in Gwinnett County by Noah’s Ark in partner with Joseph’s Network and the American Red Cross.

This half-day event encourages leaders to network amongst diverse and multi-denominational faith and civic groups, establish relationships with disaster response agencies, and learn how to be an involved community partner in times of disaster.

Special presenters include: Georgia Emergency Management Agency, Janay Stargell, Faith-Based Coordinator; Center for Disease Control, Roger Pippin, Jr., Division of Public Affairs; Medical Reserve Corps, Robin Pangborn, Volunteer; American Red Cross, Bill Armstrong, Shelter Manager Volunteer.

The summit is scheduled for 8 a.m.-12 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located 1150 Cole Road, Lilburn, GA 30047

The summit will help leaders from diverse faiths be better prepared for disasters.
