Gabilondo Announces Candidacy for State House Representative District 108

Local politics, community leader, conservative Republican Mountain Park Lilburn Area

A long-time resident of the Lilburn area in unincorporated Gwinnett County, Patty Gabilondo has distinguished herself as a tireless and respected community leader. After retiring from a successful career as a corporate executive, where she received several professional designations from UCLA, Georgia Tech and the Institute of Supply Management, she became a tourist in her own town and began participating in and volunteering at local events. She shared many of her newfound experiences in her ‘Living in Lilburn’ column for Patch.com, where she researched and wrote articles focusing on public safety issues, community needs and advocating for small local businesses and their owners.

From 2013-2015, she served as President of the GFWC Lilburn Woman’s Club where she has a proven track record of results-oriented leadership, persuading large groups of individuals to collaboratively invest their time, energy and finances toward community projects and improvements.

Not a career politician, she served as Legislative Aide for Rep. BJ Pak to gain practical experience at the Georgia State Capitol following the legislative processes as new laws are developed, vetted and applied.

In her spare time she continues to serve on several non-profit executive boards, actively supports local and small businesses, and is passionate about every resident in the district having a voice in city, county and state government policies. She is not afraid to ask tough questions about public issues in the greater Lilburn and surrounding communities on behalf of those who are not comfortable speaking out.

Ms. Gabilondo is the daughter of a retired U.S. Army Officer and Human Resources Administrator and graduated from the University of Texas, San Antonio with a Bachelor of Business Administration. She currently lives in the Lilburn area with John, her husband of 35 years. She has two grown sons, one attending Kennesaw State University studying Professional Chemistry and one with special needs.
