GCPD Reads "Right" to Camp Creek Elementary Third Graders

Friday was "Books and Badges" day at school!

No high drama or truant students. Gwinnett County Police Officers spent some time reading to some lucky third grade students at Camp Creek Elementary as part of their "Books and Badges" program on Friday.

Camp Creek's Third Graders in the Brandy and Upreti classes spent some time with Officer Aaron Brinkman in the media center reading "Being Honest." Acting out scenarios and asking lots of questions, Officer Brinkman led the students through the possibilities to find the right answers.

Initiated by Officer William Rooks, officers shared books about character development. It is a program designed to connect law enforcement, character education, community, school, and reading.
