“We are delighted to welcome Ian to GGC and expect to put his skills and experience to work immediately,” said GGC in a release. “His function is a critical part of intercollegiate athletics, and he has quite a lot to do to help us prepare for the Grizzlies’ first year of competition in 2012-2013.”
A Gwinnett native, Potter played football, basketball and track at B. He then went on to run track at Clemson University where he received his Bachelor's degree in communications in 2002. Potter also completed his Master's in education/counselor education. He is currently working on his Doctorate of Education in higher education administration at Georgia Southern University.

Potter and his wife Brittany, who attended Collins Hill High School, are excited to return home to Gwinnett County.
“Because there was not a college in Gwinnett with an athletics program, I never thought I’d find myself here after being gone for 10 years,” said Potter in a release. “It’s exciting to be part of something new at Georgia Gwinnett and to put my touch on the program here. I’m very happy about the opportunity.”
The Grizzlies plan to and play in the NAIA.
