Gwinnett Elementary School Teacher Dies in Morning Wreck

Gwinnett Police said Nichole Riley, a teacher at Alford ES, died in the 7 a.m. accident.

A Gwinnett County teacher died in a Monday morning accident near Lilburn, police said

Gwinnett Police said in a news release that Nichole Riley, 41, of Snellville, died in a two-vehicle crash on Hewatt Road near Martin Nash Road around 7 a.m. Monday.

Police said Riley was a teacher at Alford Elementary School in Lawrenceville.

Police said Riley was driving a red Mazda northbound on Hewatt Road (heading toward Martin Nash Road) when the car crossed the center line and collided with a blue Toyota Tundra head-on.

Riley died as a result of her injuries; the driver of the pickup was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

No other passengers were inside either vehicle.
