at South Gwinnett: Defense versus offense will greet fans Friday in Snellville when the Parkview Panthers play the South Gwinnett Comets. There’s no doubt that South Gwinnett’s offensive explosion in last week’s 63-55 win over Central Gwinnett has gotten the attention of the Parkview coaching staff. The Comets gained more than 600 yards, including nearly 400 running and passing by South quarterback Mason Hart. It was a breakout game for South (1-3, 1-1 in Region 8-AAAAA), which struggled in losing its first three games. Parkview (1-2, 1-0 in the region) also righted things a bit in a 30-19 win over Shiloh last week. The Panthers should be the toughest defense South will have faced so far. One thing that is hard to overlook for this game: Parkview dominated a Shiloh team that had beaten South Gwinnett 28-19 the week before. There will be points scored, for sure, but don’t expect South to match last week’s output. Parkview 32, South Gwinnett 25.

Archer at : The young Archer program took an important step in last week’s 21-19 loss to Brookwood. The Tigers (1-3, 0-2 Region 8-AAAAA) are only eight points away from being 3-1. Berkmar (also 1-3, 0-2) are coming off two ugly lopsided losses, but have shown some ability to move the ball. Berkmar won 35-19 last year, but things have changed since then. Archer 24, Berkmar 23.
