Inside Police Reports: Is it really EVER over?

Each time you think it might be over ... it just really isn't.

An ongoing neighbors' dispute kept Lilburn Police busy throughout the week last week. With incidents recorded starting in March, multiple calls were made and statements taken from all parties involved, it doesn't seem that it will get resolved anytime soon.

On July 3, a gentleman reported that a neighbor's dogs were running loose; he had witnessed them in his yard and had photos of them. Having had problems with the dogs for about a year, he had reported it in March. Upon inspection of files, officers found that the neighbors had been given a warning about the leash law concerning the dogs.

On July 4, a follow-up visit by officers to the neighbors was made and officers spoke to a woman concerning the complaint. She said that her dogs were not outside at the time of the complaint; but she was given a citation for being in violation of the leash law. She was advised of the court date.

The original gentleman filing the complaint was asked to come to the Lilburn Police Department on Monday the 9th for a written statement and to bring copies of the photos. He stated he didn't have photos of the DOGS, but only of the feces from the dogs ... and they were on his phone ... but his phone was giving him problems.

But wait ... that's not all.

On July 5 at 1:30 p.m., police were called to the neighbor's home for a dispute in which the original gentleman (with the faulty phone) was accused of periodically making appearances outside wearing "only his undershorts." The neighbors (with the dogs) told officers they had spoken him several times about this and had asked him "not to do this due to the fact they have young children." They advised the officer that obviously this wasn't working since he had been seen out in his shorts at 8:00 a.m. that day.

The gentleman walked into the Police Department at 4:00 p.m. to discuss the accusations. He advised officers that he never walked out into the yard in his undershorts, but he does have "shorts" that he frequently wears. He also told officers that he had never had discussions with the neighbors (the ones with the dogs) about anything like this.

And though that report ends with "nothing further" by the officer ... There is more. Yes there is.

At a little after 5:15 p.m. that same day, officers were once again called to the homes of these two "neighbors." The gentleman (with the phone) reported that the man next door (with the dogs) had made a threatening gesture towards him by putting his finger to his head - creating an image of a pistol. The gentleman (with the phone) took that as a threat and wished to file a police report.

Lilburn PD spoke to the neighbor (with the dogs) who stated that he was cleaning his garage when the gentleman (with the phone) drove by. He might have scratched his head, but never made a threatening gesture toward the gentleman.

No arrests were made. No other witnesses were found. No further information available ... at that time. We'll see.
