"Into the Light" Art Show Fundraiser

Sandra Rivera Ruiz is a Domestic Violence Survivor who suffered a severe brain injury after her estranged husband tried to take her life, shortly before killing their 4 year old son and taking his own life. Her tragic story has inspired a group of artists in the Atlanta area to raise funds for her care and to raise awareness about Domestic Violence, a problem that affects 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men at least one time in their lives.

Sandra has received three months of a groundbreaking treatment and her she is doing incredible for someone who was expected to not improve at all. She has gone from crying all the time, not sleeping, staying curled up in a fetal position and being completely non-responsive - now she is no longer crying and has actually started laughing, she sleeps through the night, her arms and legs have opened up, and she can move her limbs a few inches when she is asked to. It feels like tiny miracles to the family whenever they see these changes.
On Saturday June 28th, DooGallery will host the "Into the Light" Art Show Fundraiser which will raise funds for Sandra's care. Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV) will be at the event to share information about Domestic Violence and the solutions and services they provide. The event will be held from 6:30 to 11:30 pm and will feature many forms of art, live painting, interactive art, black light painting, and entertainment. There will be a raffle, silent auction, complimentary snacks and libations.
Donations will be accepted at the door. Suggested contribution is $10 or $20 VIP. $10 donation includes 1 raffle ticket, $20 VIP includes 5 raffle tickets and a show souvenir.
