Junior Leadership Corps coming to Lilburn Middle School 2015-2016

Junior Leadership Corps (JLC) is a year-long leadership development Connections class for six, seventh and eighth grade students.

Beginning in the school year 2015-2016, the Gwinnett County Junior Leadership Corps will start a new program at Lilburn Middle School. You can meet the Instructor, Sergeant First Class (R) Diaz, Christopher on May 11th 2015 at 6:00 P.M. to register for the next school year. He will be there to answer questions pertaining to the program.

Junior Leadership Corps (JLC) is a year-long leadership development Connections class for six, seventh and eighth grade students that prepare young people for secondary and postsecondary pathways. Through intensive leadership development, students gain the confidence, teamwork and critical thinking skills necessary for future success. The program also promotes healthy and balanced lifestyle choices, active goal setting, more effective relationships and meaningful community involvement.

The mission of Gwinnett County Public Schools’ Junior Leadership Corps program is to influence students to be motivated to achieve their academic goals and to be successful, productive leaders who make a difference in their communities.

In addition to coursework, students will participate in physical fitness and community service activities. Periodic field trips, guest speakers, and other activities may be planned to enhance and reinforce the skills that students are learning in JLC
