Lilburn Farmers Market: what's at the market Friday, July 22

Lilburn Farmers Market, a producer only market, will run from 4 to 8 pm Friday at 1400 Killian Hill Road.

This week juicy and sweet peaches from Middle Georgia will be available, as well as, blackberries, blueberries and cantaloupe that melts in your mouth. Tomatoes, corn, beans, squash, carrots, peppers, arugula, cucumbers are some of the vegetables that can be purchased.

Chef Lisa Lowe of Cooking for Caregivers will show us how to prepare chilled cantaloupe soup. Recipes and samples will be available.

Locally roasted coffee (ground and whole bean), honey harvested in Snellville, grass fed/grain finished beef and pork, sausages, frozen prepared meals (salmon, chicken pot pie, enchiladas), 'homemade' ice creams, sherbert, and ice cream sandwiches, granolas, goat cheeses (assorted flavors), baked goods (cakes, cookies, breads, brownies) and many other delicious treats fill the market. Most vendors accept credit cards.

Food trucks offer easy choices for a yummy and easy dinner. BBQ - pork, chicken and brisket can be purchased by sandwich, plate or pound. Mobile Marlay Food truck offers fish n chips, shrimp tacos, lobster tacos, cod sandwiches and shrimp sandwiches. YUM!

Bath and body products are also available - yummy smelling soaps, lotions and new this week, all natural insect repellent! Hand made pottery, mugs, and note cards can be found. Great ideas for gifts for every one.

Due to a partnership with Wholesome Wave Georgia, the Lilburn Farmers Market is able to double EBT dollars on eligible products.

Lilburn Woman's Club continues to host the Little Free Library which is filled with books for readers of all ages.

North Georgia Two Cylinder Club offers free tractor rides.

Alex Porto, principal of St. John Neumann Regional Catholic School and talented musician, will fill the market with music.
