Lilburn House Fire Displaces Family; Dog Missing

A Saturday night fire in Lilburn may have been started by baby bottles being sterilized on the stove, a fire department spokesman said.

No injuries were reported.

A family of three on Camp Creek Road was displaced by the fire, but the family dog was unaccounted for immediately after the event.

Gwinnett Fire spokesman Capt. Tommy Rutledge said firefighters responded at 8:59 p.m. after a resident called to report finding smoke pouring from the house.

A fire in the kitchen and living room was quickly extinguished, but the house still sustained extensive damage from the flames and smoke.

“The fire appears accidental and may have been sparked by baby bottles being sterilized on the stove,” Rutledge said in a press release.
