Lilburn Students Earn College Honors

Seven Lilburn students make the Dean's List at their colleges, one was inducted into a national honor society, and one is among Georgia College's "Who's Who."

The following students from Lilburn earned honors at college:

Ashleigh Fox, senior exercise science major, was chosen as a Georgia College representative in the 2011-2012 edition of "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges."

Ashleigh is an active member of S.O.A.R., A.N.G.E.L.S., the Black Student Alliance, and SuperStars, providing afterschool mentoring. She also is a member of the Leadership Certificate Program and Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society, and played basketball for the Bobcats from 2008-2011.

Rhea Cravens, a sophomore biology major, was inducted into Reinhardt University's chapter of Beta Beta Beta, a national college honor society.

Beta Beta Beta (Tri-Beta) is a national honor society for undergraduate biology majors, dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research. More than 430 chapters operate in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

Nomination for the honor requires the sponsorship of a biology professor, declaration of a biology major, and earning of a minimum of 12 semester hours of upper division work at B or better.

Jessica A. Harden

Frank D. Swilley

To qualify for the honor, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. The Dean's List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.

These Lilburn students made the Dean's List at Trevecca Nazarene University:

Katelyn Hays, a Junior Social Work major

Spencer Stevens, a Sophomore Music Education major

Aaron Stevens, a Sophomore Physics major

This honor is given to students who have achieved a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the semester, and it recognizes the hard work and dedication of those students.
