Lilburn's Alcohol Compliance Rate is at 93%!

The Gwinnett County Police Department detectives visited 15 alcohol retailers in the unincorporated area of Lilburn between October 1 and December 31, 2015. Only one out of the 15 stores sold alcohol to an underage decoy.

Compliance checks are important because they validate that employees are checking IDs to prevent alcohol sales to those under 21 years of age. The employees who sell alcohol to underage decoys are given two citations, one for not properly checking an ID and the second for selling alcohol to a minor. The fine per citation is $300 in order to make the employee aware of what he or she needs to focus on while also highlighting to the manager that his or her employees may need further training to ensure that they are following the laws and ordinances appropriately.
