Local Cabinet Company Burglarized

Inside the Police Reports: A burglary was reported at Hudson Cabinet Company last week, costing thousands of dollars worth of damage.

The owner of Hudson Cabinet Company reported a burglary of copper wire last week.

The owner, 71, went into the business Oct. 2 and noticed the back door had been pried open. The business, which is located at 175 Arcado Road in Lilburn, had its electrical panels and breaker boxes cut open.

According to the police report, a 15-foot section of copper wire was taken from the panels. The estimated cost for the copper wire is $200, and the estimated cost to repair the electrical panel is $3,000, says the report.

The owner told Lilburn police that the building is currently vacant, and the last time he checked the building was Sept. 24.

The report has no listed suspects, but several fingerprints were lifted from the front office's glass door.

A black set of bolt cutters were also placed into evidence. Officers found the cutters lying on the ground underneath the panels, and the owner denied they were his.
