Man Charged in Drug-Related Shooting Death of Girlfriend
Gwinnett Police said she was shot "as the two were participating in the distribution of a controlled substance."

Police arrested and charged a Gwinnett County man with murder in the shooting death of his girlfriend Saturday.
Gwinnett Police said Omar Ezzikouri, 18, is charged with shooting and killing Jessica Moreno, also 18, who was found with a gunshot wound at 934 Arlington Drive in south Gwinnett County Saturday night around 8:30. Moreno died later at a local hospital.
Ezzikouri, who lives at the address, called 911 to report the incident and remained at the scene until police arrived, according to a news release.

“Based on the evidence and the statements collected during the investigation, it was determined that Jessica was shot by Omar as the two were participating in the distribution of a controlled substance,” Gwinnett Police spokesperson Cpl. Deon Washington said in the news release.
Ezzikouri was also charged with conspiracy to distribute a Schedule IV controlled substance (alprazolam/Xanax).

He is being held without bond at the Gwinnet County jail.
