UPDATED One woman killed, a second injured in Lawrenceville homicide
A man discovered the victims after noticing the back door of his home had been forced open, police said.

Gwinnett Police have identified the victim in Tuesday's beating death of an elderly woman in unincorpated Lawrenceville.
Police say Alma B. Ercolano, 76, of 1517 High Sierra Drive, was the woman who was found dead; the cause of death has not yet been determined by the Medical Examiners Office. Police also say Cheryl Sullivan, 30, of the same address, suffered injuries from blunt-force trauma.
According to news releases from Cpl. Edwin Ritter of the Gwinnett County Police Department, Christopher A. Gheesling, 29, Sullivan's boyfriend, told police he discovered the victims after returning the home around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and noticing the back door had been forced open.

The man found his girlfriend alive in the house with blunt force trauma around her body. He found the older woman dead in another part of the house. The surviving victim was taken by county fire officials to the and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to the release.
Investigators are following several leads in the case, according to Ritter.
