Parkview Panthers Fall To Norcross In Home Opener
Norcross scored two key touchdowns in the second half to break open a close game.
Parkview hanged tough with the defending Class 6A champions Friday night, but lost a 21-7 decision to Norcross in the Panthers' home opener.
The game was played in front a large crowd at Parkview's Big Orange Jungle. The home side of the stadium was nearly at capacity.
The Panthers, who fell to 0-2, trailed only 7-0 at halftime, the Norcross score coming inside the final two minutes of the second quarter.
But Norcross (1-1) then scored on back-to-back possessions late in the third quarter and early in the fourth to take a 21-0 lead with 9:20 left. Both TDs came on plays of more than 30 yards.
Parkview scored its touchdown with 3:13 left in the game after a 73-yard drive. Quarterback Jack Chambers completed a 27-yard pass to Jeremy Lacey for the touchdown.
