Parkview Runners Lead Lilburn at Peachtree

Two Parkview High School distance runners were Lilburn’s fastest finishers at the 2011 Peachtree Road Race Monday, according to official results.

Alec Klassen and Steven Spevacek, who were state qualifiers in the Class AAAAA cross country (2010) and track and field (2011) meets, were 82nd and 111th, respectively, in the annual 10-kilometer (6.1 miles) foot race down Peachtree Street in Atlanta.

According to race officials, more than 55,000 runners participated.

Klassen, 18, ran a a time of 33 minutes, 17 seconds, and was fourth in the men’s 15-19 age division.

Spevacek, also 18, ran a time of 34:19. He was seventh in his age group.

Kristy Hollinsghed, 31, was the area's fastest woman runner. Hollingshed ran a time of 44:18 to finish 157th overall among woman and 22nd in the Women's 30-34 age division.

Evie Hoffman, 51, was the fastest woman runner in the Women's 50-54 division with a time of 45:26. She was 196th among all women.

Greg Nelms, 46, 937th overall (73rd Men's 45-49), 43:20.
