Parkview SAT-Takers Top County, National Averages

Parkview SAT-takers topped the county average by 85 points.

Parkview High School seniors' 2011 SAT scores exceeded county, state and national averages, according to data recently released by Gwinnett County Public Schools.

Parkview test-takers had an average composite score of 1596, 85 points above the Gwinnett County average of 1511.

Countywide, test-takers scored higher than the national and Georgia averages of 1500 and 1445, respectively. District participation has increased 29.2 percent in the last two years.

Overall, though, SAT scores declined at local, state and natioanal levels, GCPS said in a press release.

Berkmar High School test-takers scored on average below the state and national levels, with a composite score of 1371.

The composite score is the combination of reading, mathematics and writing scores, with a possible total of 2400 points.

Below are the averages from Lilburn's two public high schools.

Parkview:

Reading: 529; Math: 550; Writing: 517; Total 1596

Berkmar:

Reading: 454; Math: 469; Writing: 448; Total 1371
