Police Catch Man Wanted for Making Lewd Gestures Toward Child at Gwinnett Park

Charges may not be filed against the man due to his mental condition.

Gwinnett Police say media coverage helped them find a man wanted for making lewd comments and gestures toward a child at a Gwinnett County park, but charges may not be filed due to the man’s mental state.

The incident happened at Mountain Park Park near Lilburn around 5:20 p.m. on Friday, June 20.

“During the course of the investigation, the lead detective learned that the suspect suffers from several mental conditions,” Gwinnett Police public information officer Cpl. Michele Pihera said in a news release. “Though there is evidence that a criminal act occurred, no charges will be filed at this time.”
