Providence Christian Honors Veterans with School-Wide Celebration
Veterans from the Staff and School Families To Be Recognized in a Patriotic Ceremony

Submitted press release
In recognition of Veterans Day, Providence Christian Academy will hold a school-wide ceremony on Monday, November 10th to pay tribute to the men and women who have served our country in the armed forces.
The “Honoring Veterans Celebration” is an occasion to remind the school’s kindergarten through 12th grade students about the sacrifice and service of deceased, retired and active duty service members, and to give students a chance to honor these men and women. During the ceremony, each high school student will sit with their elementary school “buddy” (a younger student they connect with throughout the school year) so they can experience the event together. Providence families and friends are also invited.

“We have so much to be grateful for in this country, and that includes all the men and women who serve to protect America,” said Associate Head of School Dr. Sean Chapman. “It’s important that our students not only hear about these veterans, but get the chance to meet them, express appreciation to them and pray for them.”
Many Providence students have provided information about veterans in their families and many of those veterans will be on hand to be recognized, including eight members of the Providence staff who are veterans that have served in the Army, Air Force and Coast Guard. The service will feature patriotic performances by the high school band and a combined elementary and high school chorus, remarks from Lilburn Mayor Johnny Crist and a keynote address by retired Army Chaplain Colonel Robert D. Branson, who served 25 years in the Army Reserves and is grandfather to a Providence student.
