Two Thefts Occur Around Burns Road
Inside the Police Reports: One attempted residential theft and one theft of a landscaping trailer occurred last week on streets near Burns Road.

One theft and one attempted theft took place the week of June 13 less than half a mile of one another around Burns Road.
The attempted theft, taking place June 13 at a residence on Bradstone Trace, was called in around 10:30 a.m. by a 13-year-old girl while the burglary was still in process. When police arrived, the suspects had already left and nothing appeared to be stolen from the home.
The girl, who was home with her 15-year-old brother, said she was in her home when she heard knocking on the door and saw a "light-skinned" and "possibly Hispanic" male looking through one of the home's windows. She also noted to police that a black male was walking through the backyard.

She proceeded upstairs to let her brother know of the men, and she heard the backdoor being kicked open. The girl locked herself and her brother in one of the rooms, where she called police.
Once police arrived, they first met with the children's mother outside, who told police that her children were inside. Police cleared the home and determined the only damage done was to the back door.

The victims weren't able to give detailed descriptions on the suspects. The scene was photographed, but the report doesn't state anything about prints being taken.
The other incident occurred June 16 at an office on Walking Lane, just 0.4 miles away from the first incident. The owner of the private business told police that when he arrived at work that morning, the company's black 6-by-12 landscaping trailer at the business had been taken overnight from the parking lot.
The owner, 50, told Gwinnett Police that the trailer had been secured with a chain to a large tree. He checked the premise's security cameras and saw lights of an unknown vehicle that had enter the property at 4:30 a.m., and unknown suspects got out of the vehicle near the trailer. The cameras, which had been focused on the business's AC units since they've been stolen before, did not get a good shot of the suspects or their car.
The vehicle is black with a 6-by-10 wooden deck, weighs 3,000 pounds, has 15-inch wheels and is surrounded by a 12-inch-high opened rails. The victim noted to police that the trailer's tag is kept inside of the office and not on the actual vehicle.
