Victim In Deadly Motorcycle Crash Identified

LILBURN, GA — Police have identified the driver of a motorcycle who was killed Wednesday in a crash on Lawrenceville Highway.

Prakashchandra Bhagat, 41, of Lawrenceville, died from injuries he sustained in the crash, which happened at about 2:23 p.m. near Inland Way in Lilburn.

Witnesses told police that Bhagat was weaving in and out of traffic and passing cars in the center turn lane of the highway.

The northbound motorcycle struck a southbound Ford Escape that was attempted to turn left in the center lane of Lawrenceville Highway near Lilburn Square shopping center, Lilburn Police say.

Bhagat, was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:51 p.m.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured. No charges will be filed in the case, according to Lilburn police.
