1 Dead, 1 Injured in Moreland Avenue Shooting

The shooting happened near a DeKalb County gas station at 2:30 a.m.

DECATUR, GA -- One man was killed and another man injured early Monday morning in a shooting near a Moreland Avenue gas station in DeKalb County.

Three men were returning from a club at about 2:30 a.m., according to DeKalb County Police

They were stopped at a stoplight when someone in a white SUV opened fire on their black Ford Mustang, DeKalb police spokesman Maj. S.R. Fore said Tuesday in an email.

They made it to a Citgo gas station near Little Five Points and the driver and a passenger were transported to Grady Hospital. The driver, 32-year-old Darius Davenport, was pronounced dead.

The passenger, 22 years old, was in serious but stable condition Tuesday, Fore said. The third man in the Mustang was not struck.

Police hope to get more information from the passenger who was not injured and nearby surveillance cameras.
