News Nearby: Neither of the children were seriously injured.

Two children were injured Tuesday afternoon when a minivan crashed through the front of a daycare facility on Scenic Highway in Gwinnett County.
Gwinnett Fire Capt. Tommy Rutledge said in a news release that firefighters responded at 4:51 p.m. to the Learning Hive daycare center at 415 Scenic Highway. Neither of the children were seriously injured, Rutledge said.
“Two children inside the center at the time were transported to the hospital for evaluation of minor (non-life threatening) injuries,” Rutledge said in the news release. “The driver of the van was assessed by paramedics for a minor injury complaint and was released at the scene.”

Rutledge said the van crashed through the right side of the building and caused significant damage to the exterior wall.
WXIA-TV reported the incident happened after the van swerved to miss another vehicle that was taking a left turn; the van then ran into the building.
