4 People Injured in Early Morning House Fire

The injuries were described as minor.

Four people were sent to the hospital — all with minor injuries — after an early morning house fire near Grayson.

The fire occurred around 5 a.m. Saturday morning on Newlin Court, not far from the intersection of Sugarloaf Parkway and Ga. Hwy. 20 north of Grayson.

“There were a total of four injuries related to the incident. All were adults, that were being treated for minor injuries as a result of the fire,” Gwinnett Fire spokesman Lt. James Jester. “Two were transported non-emergent to Grady, with the other two being transported non-emergent to Gwinnett Medical Center.”

Fire crews arrived at the fire at 5:15 a.m. to find the one-story house with heavy smoke and fire. The blaze caused extensive damage to the home.

Jester said the occupants were able to escape and call 911 from a neighbor’s house. No specific information was released on the victims and their injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
