The Lilburn Farmers' Market located on the Greenway Trail parking lot in downtown Lilburn Friday from 4pm to 8pm will be hosting the first annual Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest for children 15 and under. Prizes will be awarded to the participants that can spit the seed the furtherest. This should be a great activity for all! Come by the information booth to sign up for the fun! Tell your friends and neighbors to come along, too.
Girl Scout Troop 1187 will be our partner this Friday. Please consider purchasing a bottle of water to support this troop. Representatives from the Gwinnett Children's Shelter will be at the market distributing information.
Music on Main Street will be providing music to shop by.
In addition to the wonderful farm fresh produce, we have just learned that North Georgia apples will be making their first appearance. This is in addition to the salsas, pastas, breads, baked goods, Wholly Pops, and other market favorites.
It is not too early to start stocking up on your favorite market products. There are only 2 more markets this season. Make sure you stock up on local honey, freshly roasted coffee, Pappardelle's Pasta, jellies, salsas, bath/body products and seasonings. All of these items would make terrific gifts.
