Archer High School 2011 Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Katelynn Burkart is the 2011 Valedictorian at Archer High School and Samantha Healy is the Salutatorian.

Valedictorian - Katelynn Burkart           

Katelynn Burkart, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Timothy Burkart, is the 2011 Valedictorian at Archer High School. She will be attending Brigham Young University and plans on majoring in biology. Burkart received an academic scholarship that will pay half of her tuition. She also has scholarship offers from Atlanta Better Business Bureau and Area 3 Gwinnett PTA. Among her honors and awards, Burkart had the highest GPA in Algebra 2, Precalculus and Band and was named the most outstanding brass musician. She also had the highest GPA in her junior class, was a University of Georgia Merit Scholar and has had perfect attendance from k through 12th grade. Burkart was band captain and brass section leader in the marching band, a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club and held offices in the Academic Club, Spanish Club and Yearbook. She was a member of Mu Alpha Theta. Burkart is a member and youth chorister at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and plans on pursuing a career as a pediatric physical therapist.

Salutatorian - Samantha Healy

Samantha Healy, daughter of Sonya Cousino, is the 2011 Salutatorian at Archer High School. She will be attending Berry College and plans to major in biology. She received three scholarships from Berry College - the Leadership Fellows Scholarship in the amount of $18,000, Provost Scholarship for $10,000 and an Academic Scholarship in the amount of $46,000. She also had offers from Brannan and the University of Georgia. Among her honors and awards, Healy holds the title of Miss Archer, earned 2nd place in the GCPS culinary competition was a UGA Merit Scholar, AP Bilogy Student of the Year and AP Scholar with Honors. In her school activities, Healy was the National Honor Society secretary, was involved with peer leadership, Beta Club, Tigers of Distinction, was the Varsity Basketball Captain and was a member of Mu Alpha Theta. Healy plans on pursuing a career as a biologist and conduct research at the CDC or EPA.
