The pair were wanted for two armed robberies in unincorporated Duluth and Tucker.
On November 28, police say McMillan met a victim in his hotel room at the Extended Stay America, at 3390 Venture Pkwy., and asked him for money.
When he didn't comply, McMillan opened the hotel room door and an armed man rushed in. A struggle ensued and the armed man shot the victim in the right thigh, breaking his leg.
McMillan was seen walking with two male suspects before the shooting happened and walked out afterward alone, as the two men ran from the hotel through a different exit.
And on December 29, two men were getting out of their work van at Carrington Chase apartments at about 7:30 p.m. when two men robbed them at gunpoint.
One of the victims was shot in both legs below the knees. But one of the suspects dropped a cellphone during the crime.
Investigators say they discovered the phone belonged to Evans, and that it revealed conversations with McMillan about the robberies.
There was also mention of a home-invasion robbery in Rossville that happened on October 31.
Evans is charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault for both Gwinnett County cases. McMillan is charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault for the November 28 crime, and other charges may be added later.
