GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — A Gwinnett woman was arrested Monday after authorities found her passed out in her car with her 1-year-old daughter strapped into the back seat, police say.

Caylie Chaney, 26, was charged with driving under the influence, endangering a child by driving under the influence, felony cruelty to a child, possession of open container and probation violation.

An anonymous tip led police to a Gwinnett County apartment complex parking lot, at Veranda Estates Apartments on Spalding Drive in Peachtree Corners, where Chaney was found passed out with empty alcohol containers near her 1-year-old daughter. The police report says she was covered in a large amount of vomit.

Police say a fireman woke her up by slapping her foot with a rubber glove. Based on the anonymous tip, Police believe Chaney had been in the parking lot for at least seven hours.

After getting out of the car, Chaney failed a sobriety test, the police report says.

Police found an empty bottle of Smirnoff Vodka in the passenger seat as well as an empty box of wine.

Cheney told police, according to the report, that she had been drinking the night before and drove to Peachtree Corners from Acworth. She said she did not know how long she was passed out and did not remember vomiting.

Chaney was previously arrested for identity fraud, trespass and public indecency.

Police left the dog and the child with Chaney's cousin who lived in the same apartment complex, the report says.
