AMAI Karate Competitors Win BIG at Tournaments!

AMAI Karate WINS at Tournaments

AMAI Karate is proud to announce that students who competed in national-scale tournaments this past weekend had their hard work rewarded with medals and trophies!

 

Karate student Duncan Lowry competed on Saturday, March 2nd at the Tony Young All Star Nationals in the Weapons and Sparring divisions.  He is on the AMAI Karate Demo Team and in the Leadership Program.  He won FIRST PLACE in Weapons for his outstanding performance on the Bo Staff, and competed with amazing skill and sportsmanship against a much larger opponent in the Sparring division.  He came away with a trophy and a great sense of a HUGE accomplishment!

Team Alex Daltro Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitors from AMAI Karate competed in the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation Lutador Tournament at the Cobb Civic Center, also on Saturday, March 2.  Seven competed and AMAI Karate came away with 6 medals:

Seth Meyerson: GOLD in Heavyweight Adult

Nathan Price: GOLD

Amanda Jung: SILVER in her division and SILVER in the Women's Open

Corban Bell: SILVER

John Phillips: SILVER

Team Alex Daltro is part of Team Roberto Traven, which WON the Lutador competition overall.
