Cain "mutiny" - or media malpractice?
Are the mainstream media meeting the basic standards of journalism?
Ah yes, it is campaign season (or should I say “wabbit” season)and the time for all plaintiffs to emerge from the woodwork. Plaintiff’s who wish to be completely anonymous while alleging career-ending charges of wrongdoing; plaintiffs who claim in lurid, ratings-grabbing detail, wrongful sexual advances made by a candidate, but plaintiffs who wish to seek no justice or compensation. Isn’t it curious; acts that Herman Cain allegedly perpetrated more than 10 years ago, that were considered so unimportant as to lay dormant all that time ( like a deadly virus) all of a sudden spring to life as soon as Mr. Cain achieves front-runner status in the GOP race for nominee. If it is not justice that these women seek, then what is it? That’s a rhetorical question.
My purpose here is not to discuss the innocence or guilt of Herman Cain, or his suitability for office of POTUS, but rather to point out a crime whose seriousness is so grave as to warrant a swift trial by public opinion. My allegations are rather weak by normal media standards, since I actually have facts with which to back up my claims and I am entirely lacking in anonymous sources and innuendo. I hope you won’t hold that against me, but instead blindly prosecute and condemn the defendants of my charges. Of course, I am referring to the mainstream media of now and the past; that corrupt portion of the “fifth estate.” This group’s journalistic standards and lofty goals of seeking truth, of loyalty to citizens and of the discipline of verification have all but been abandoned in their rush to shape our times rather than chronicle our times. Here is a small sampling of some of the sordid details to back up of my claims of their crimes [in date sequence]:
