Georgia Chapter of PAAO Off to a Great Start!

First meeting down...more to go!

As some of you may have read in the Tribune on Sunday the Georgia Chapter of the Parental Alienation Awareness Organization had their first official meeting on Thursday at 6:30pm at the Starbucks in Loganville.

When I first started looking into getting involved with the PAAO, all I wanted was a support group for my husband (and me, too) to get through the hardest time of our life as we dealt with (and are dealing with) his daughter's estrangement from our family. What began as one little Google search has grown into a movement that I am proud to be a part of.

There have been many bits of fate that have reaffirmed my belief that this is something I need to be doing. Meeting my now good friend Angie through the Parental Alienation Facebook page who turned out lives two minutes from my house was the first bit. From there more things have fallen into both our laps that makes us both do mental (and literal) high fives.

The journey will continue and our Georgia Chapter will grow. The struggle that parental alienation brings to the family being alienated will also continue, but the support I now feel from my community and so many other Georgians helps me feel that much more connected to a worthy cause.

So, if you are reading this and thinking "I need that support too" or know someone who needs support, or just wondering what parental alienation even is, join us at our next meeting on October 18, 2012 at 6:30pm at the Starbucks in Loganville.
