The boughs of the City Tree are lit up with a beautiful array of greens, reds, blues and yellows. When I close my eyes, I can still see Frosty dancing with the children in the falling snow.
The boughs of the City Tree are lit up with a beautiful array of greens, reds, blues and yellows. When I close my eyes, I can still see Frosty dancing with the children in the falling snow. Last night's freshly hatched memories help spread the smile wide across my face today. I truly enjoyed each lovely sight I saw and all I experienced last night. I had the great honor of teaming up with some incredible individuals from some wonderful groups. The Loganville Woman's Club embraced the tedious task of passing out hot drinks and cookies, while serving with wonderful ease and grace. Photographer Eric Ash and his team worked diligently to insure each family had the best photo opportunity with Santa. Eric Ash had once again mastered the art of capturing the emotions of the moment. It was truly heartwarming to stand and watch the way in which the children interacted with Santa. It was clear that he too was incredibly happy to have had the chance to visit with all the children who were able to come out.
Each year, I have a chance to experience a new dimension from the various events I coordinate. At this year's tree lighting, as I walked through the crowd to thank folks for coming out, I noticed there were several people who actually didn't have little ones with them. Oddly enough that made me smile; it made me feel happy to be able to feature an event that appeals to a wide span of generations. After witnessing countless children share their time with Santa, I began to see some of Loganville's handsomest couples sit with Santa to have their picture taken. Regardless of age, a moment with Santa is truly priceless. I am thrilled to have seen a moment where older couples, I have no doubt who once brought their own children to sit on Santa's lap, took time to enjoy the holiday spirit for themselves.
When I speak about the turnout at our City's events I struggle to find the right words to express what I feel in my heart. Our City isn't only a community, it is a family. I've come to know so many people who adore our City as much, and even more, than my husband and I do. When I discover there is a person or family who is new to our City, I get a twinkle in my eye. I know they have so much to discover and I eagerly anticipate their excitement as they realize what our "family" will mean to their lives. The entire City of Loganville, and all its friends, makes our great place what it is, "Home".
