Persimmon Pudding Recipe for Thanksgiving!
Persimmon Pudding can be the new and unusual dish you bring to Thanksgiving this year. Everybody likes to try new things! Here's the video with the recipe.. Happy Thanksgiving!
Hey everybody! Thanksgiving is almost here, so today I am posting the video about actually making the Persimmon Pudding. Yes, I have a video for that. I am so thankful for my Grandma, who shows us how to make her old-timey recipe.
Grandma truly shines a light on the people around her. I am thankful to have such a wonderul, treasure, a living Library of life knowledge. She is timeless and priceless to me.
It's true that Persimmon Pudding is not a usual staple at Thanksgiving dinner- it's the unusual addition! Maybe because people don't realize what a great addition it is. Or maybe because people don't realize how fun it is to jump in the truck and ride to find the elusive- but plentiful- Persimmon trees.. This year, the Persimmons are bearing a very nice crop- if the wildlife hasnt gotten them all off the ground. In that case, you might have to shake the tree, then you can hug it and thank it.. Don't laugh... well, ok, you can laugh, but I am being serious- heeheehee...

I do realize Persimmon Pudding might be an acquired taste for some folks because it is so different, but the following year, strangely enough, you will want to try it again! Be sure to harvest enough Persimmons for more pudding at Christmas time as well! A dollup of cool-whip or ice cream is the perfect topping- especially if the pudding is warm!
I always love this time of year- with the beautiful colors of the Fall leaves whirling in the wind, and especially the temperatures of the "Indian Summer" we have been having.. I am also looking forward to cooler weather, gatherings with my family, and my son coming home from Fort Benning! WoW- I have so much to be thankful for!

What do you have to be Thankful for? Just asking... Because, maybe we should all go outside, say a Thankful prayer- and let the wind blow on us- and while you're out there, visualize the wind blowing some of that negativity off of you- like last week's dust... It works.. The Native Americans believed in it while praying. Come on, just give it a try... Oh- and give yourself permission to relax and enjoy what you do have.
I hope everybody has a spectacular Autumn, an awesome Thanksgiving and most of all, let's all try to be more connected to the earth this season. Try planting a tree like the Persimmon- even if you aren't the one who will get to sit in it's shade, or eat the fruit. Blessings from my garden... ~Melissa
