It's looking like the entire week will bring a chance of showers to our area, with a chance for severe weather tomorrow afternoon and evening. Some of the storms could contain tornadoes but damaging winds are the more likely scenario. And not only is there a chance of severe weather on Wednesday but again on Friday. The rain is great though since Lake Lanier is below the level it was at last year and south Georgia is still in an extreme drought condition (Drought Monitor). The 5 day rainfall forecast totals from the HPC show the potential for several inches of rain over our area with even more as you go further north. Again, it come down to where you are located when it comes through. The other day, areas south of the metro area received 2-4" while we only recorded 0.02" here at DaculaWeather.com.
Thursday is the start of Meteorological Spring (March 1 - May 31) and it's going to feel like it with temperatures in the 70's through Friday before we fall back to more seasonable conditions on Saturday. Right now there is still a chance of rain on Saturday but it should begin tapering off and clearing as the day goes on, with dry conditions replacing the rain beginning Sunday and lasting through the middle of next week.
