My kids don't attend school yet, but there is a distinct feeling in the atmosphere when school ends for the year and summer vacation officially begins. Maybe it's the absence of the school buses on the road, or the increase in seeing children play in the neighborhood, but it's a change that I absolutely love.
This summer I plan on being BUSY. My oldest just turned three and my youngest is now 20-months-old, but acts more like his older brother. I've started back to school full time and am trying to keep pace with that so I eventually get this whole degree thing under my belt. Then there is the Parental Alienation Awareness that is still going strong, with an upcoming conference in Chicago and a schedule of appearances throughout the community. Oh, and don't forget working full time and volunteering for SafeKids and Relay for Life next year!
Amid all the summer hustle, however, I am going to try and enjoy the natural, laid-back atmosphere the summers in Georgia promise to offer. I am going to take advantage of the free concerts, laser shows, and festivals that happen only in the summer. I'm going to take my kids to the park more often, and visit the pool a few more times than last year because I hear this summer is going to be HOT(ter than usual..is that possible?).

My goal is to be absolutely worn out, burned up, and ready for fall by season's end so that I can confidently know that I have the maximum amount of memories in storage from the summer of 2012. So as the season begins, and I'm full of optimism and readiness for the summer ahead, I want to read back on this in September and know I fulfilled my not-so-easy summer. :-)
