- Next month, various restaurants across Gwinnett County will be celebrating none other than the burger! Burger Week returns to Gwinnett next month, March 19-25 with special burgers popping up all over menus around town. Specialty burgers will be offered for just $10 and experts say to head to the restaurant of your choice early as these burgers will be in high demand. Diesel Tap House in Buford, McCray's Tavern in Lawrenceville, Universal Joint in Lawrenceville, and Over the Top Burger Bar in Buford are just some of the restaurants planning to feature unique burger experience for their diners. - Deputies in nearby Barrow County are asking for help searching for a missing 16-year-old boy. Kristian Meeks is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds, has brown hair and hazel eyes, and he was last seen wearing black pants and red and white Adidas sneakers. Meeks was last seen around 3 p.m. on Sunday, leaving Dillard Heights Drive in Winder. Please contact the Barrow County Sheriff's Office at 770-307-3080 if you have any information that can help investigators find Kristian Meeks. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- Dr. Young-Jae Nam, MD, Ph.D., is the newest cardiologist to join the Piedmont Walton Hospital cardiology team. Dr. Nam will see patients at his office in Monroe and consult with inpatient cases at Piedmont Walton Hospital. He "specializes in general cardiology with a clinical focus on the areas of ischemic heart disease and heart failure." Dr. Nam earned a medical degree in Seoul, South Korea and a doctorate at Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine in New York, and he later "participated in a Fellowship program for Cardiology at the University of Texas." - If you missed out on John Mayer tickets for his March 27 show at the State Farm Arena, Mark Arum might just come to the rescue. Listen to his radio show during the week, this week, from 4 to 7 p.m. for a chance to win ticket to the sold-out show. - Congratulations to Loganville High School Baseball as they secure their second win of the season, at home on Monday, against Buford. Six pitchers through for a combined 10 K's allowing only 1 hit. The Red Devils finished with 6 runs on 5 hits beating the Wolves 6 to 2. The Red Devil baseball teams swept Buford as the 9th grade and JV teams both beat the Wolves last week. - If you are caring for someone who is suffering from Alzheimer's Disease or any form of dementia, support can feel far away. The Retreat at Loganville is helping to ease the burden and the fear by hosting 'The Caregiver Connection.' The monthly support group meets on the last Thursday of the month and is open to anyone who is caring for a loved one with dementia. This month's meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 23, in the Community Center at The Retreat, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and you are asked to RSVP to Michele Calhoun at 470-206-3603 or email michele.calhoun@phoenixsrliving.com.
